Description
The education in the specialty "Agricultural Economics and Trade" combines both industry-specific and functional training. The industry-specific training provides education for economists specializing in enterprises and structures within the agricultural business sector, including private agricultural farms, cooperatives, trading companies with various forms of ownership (private, public, and mixed). The functional training builds specialized knowledge for functions related to trade, procurement, sales, marketing, commercial representation, and intermediation of agricultural products and resources for their production.
The main goal of education in the specialty "Agricultural Economics and Trade" is to prepare economists specialized in the agricultural business and the trade of its products, marketing, management, and financing.
The specialty provides professional skills and competencies for the economist specialist to:
1. Manage small, medium, and large enterprises in the agricultural business.
2. Represent and mediate in the trade of
agricultural and food products.
3. Lead logistics and marketing departments in enterprises and organizations.
4. Develop business projects for starting one's own business and economic evaluation of investment projects.
5. Conduct economic and market analyses.
6. Have knowledge of financial, accounting, and legal aspects of the agricultural business.
Realization
The acquired knowledge and skills enable graduates with a bachelor's degree in economics to find opportunities in various areas, such as:
1. The production sector, where they can work as managers and economists in agricultural and trading companies, as well as agricultural cooperatives.
2. The field of processing and trade of agricultural products.
3. As experts in agricultural business and brokers for agricultural and food products.
4. Serving enterprises involved in agricultural production.
5. As experts in financing and crediting the agricultural business.
6. As experts in agricultural economics and trade within non-governmental, sectoral, and regional organizations, unions, and others.
General information
Exam and application fees
Application fees for the academic year 2024/2025.:
За първи изпит/тест таксата за кандидатстване е 60 лв. За всеки следващ изпит/тест е 55 лв.
The competition fee is waived for:
a/ persons with permanent disabilities and reduced working capacity of 70 per cent or more - certified by a decision of the TELK;
b/ round orphans up to the age of 25 years in the year of application - evidenced by the death certificates of the parents and the identity card of the prospective student.
c/ persons who, at the time of reaching the age of majority, are subject to a protection measure under the Child Protection Act - placement in a foster family, a residential social service or a specialized institution - certified by an official note from the respective home;
d/ war invalids and war victims;
e/ mothers (fathers) with three or more children - children's birth certificates and parent's ID card must be presented.
Twins pay half the fee when they both apply to TRU - birth certificates must be presented.
