The application documents that the non-EU applicants must submit are the following:

  1. An Application form, signed by the candidate. It is available on our website.;

  2. A leaving Certificate /Diploma/Secondary school/College certificate containing the scores on the subjects that are included in the assessment of the candidates (the required subjects are specific for each major 

    -

  3. A document certifying that the secondary education diploma entitles the applicant to continue his / her studies at higher education institutions in the country where the diploma was issued;

  4. A copy of ID – passport.

  5. 4 photos

  6. An application fee.

The documents from items 2 and 3 must have an apostille stamp from the country of issue OR must be certified in other legal ways applicable to the respective country. The apostilled / certified documents should be translated in Bulgarian and certified by the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in the respective country (if the document is translated in the country of origin) or by a Bulgarian public notary (if the document is translated in Bulgaria by a licensed interpreter).

The mark in Bulgarian language from the Language Certificate, issued by Trakia university or any other university in Bulgaria (if the candidate chooses to study in Bulgarian and passes a preparatory course in Bulgarian language). The mark in Bulgarian language might be also the mark from a Certificate for Bulgarian language for level B2.

The deadlines for submitting the papers for the 2025/2026 academic year depend on the particular case of each applicant:

If the applicant chooses to study the desired major in Bulgarian language, he / she should attend a 10-month preparatory course in Trakia university, studying Bulgarian language and special subjects in Bulgarian. In this case the deadline for submitting the papers is the 26 of September 2025.

If the applicant has already passed the preparatory year and holds a Certificate for Bulgarian language skills, issued by Trakia university or any other Bulgarian university, and a Certificate issued by any of the Regional Departments of Education in Bulgaria, the deadline for submitting the documents is the same as the deadline applied to Bulgarian citizens – from the 2 of June 2025 till the 27 of June 2025.

If the applicant chooses to study the desired major in English (this is applicable to the majors that are offered in English – “Medicine” and “Veterinary medicine”), the deadline for submitting the documents is the 23rd of August 2025.

IMPORTANT: THE APPLICANTS MUST SEND SCANNED COPIES OF THEIR DOCUMENTS TO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING EMAIL ADDRESSES: stefka.mihova@trakia-uni.bg OR violeta.koleva@trakia-uni.bg The application fees depend on the particular case of each applicant:

1. In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in Bulgarian, he / she should attend a preparatory 10-month course. In this case the application fee is the BGN equivalence of 70 euro (137 BGN).

2. In case the applicant has already passed the preparatory year and has a language certificate issued by Trakia University or another Bulgarian university, the application fee is the same as for Bulgarian citizens - BGN 60.

3. In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in English (this is applicable to the majors that are offered in English – “Medicine” and “Veterinary medicine”), the application fee is 70 euro for each exam. There is no fee for documents' processing. for each individual exam. There is no processing fee. 

How to pay the application fee?

The application fees are paid in one of the following ways:

  • At the pay desk of the University when submitting the application papers – only in BGN (Bulgarian leva)

The applicants must put their names in the reference field.

The final assessing depends on the particular case of each applicant:

  1. In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in Bulgarian language, he / she should attend a 10-month preparatory course in Trakia university. In this case the assessment (ranking) is ex oficio (only by documents) without ranking.

  2. In case the candidate has already passed a preparatory course and has a certificate of specialised and language training issued by a Bulgarian university - the candidate participates in the ranking together with Bulgarian citizens. The same scoring and ranking rules are applicable to him/her as to the Bulgarian citizens.

3. In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in English (this is applicable to the majors that are offered in English – “Medicine” and “Veterinary medicine”), Trakia university organizes on-line entrance exams in three sessions as follows:

First session:

JUNE 7, 2025 – exam in English (for all the applicants who come from a country where English is not an official language)

 JUNE 8, 2025 – exam in Biology (for all the candidates who apply for the English programs of Veterinary medicine and Medicine) and exam in Chemistry (for all the candidates who apply for the English programs of Medicine)

Second session:

JULY 26, 2025 – exam in English (for all the applicants who come from a country where English is not an official language)

JULY 27, 2025 – exam in Biology (for all the candidates who apply for the English programs of Veterinary medicine and Medicine) and exam in Chemistry (for all the candidates who apply for the English programs of Medicine)

Third session:

AUGUST 23, 2025 – exam in English (for all the applicants who come from a country where English is not an official language)

AUGUST 24, 2025 – exam in Biology (for all the candidates who apply for the English programs of Veterinary medicine and Medicine) and exam in Chemistry (for all the candidates who apply for the English programs of Medicine)

You may sit for all the exams (in all the three sessions) and we shall take your highest results to form your final assessment. You may find sample tests in Biology and Chemistry on our website.

The final assessment for the specialties which are offered in English (Medicine and Veterinary medicine) is as follows:

Assessment The mark from the entry test is doubled and added to the marks in Chemistry and Biology from the Secondary School Leaving Certificate.

The first ranking for the specialties which are offered in English (Medicine and Veterinary medicine) will be announced on the 27th of August 2025 on the website of the university.

Enrollment procedure: The enrollment procedure takes place after the announcement of the first ranking. The enrollment procedure takes place in the respective faculty. So, please, be prepared to pay the first installment of your tuition fee (the tuition fee for the first semester). Please refer to the links “Tuition fees and Bank accounts” and “Enrollment”.

Important! In case that we still have vacant places after the enrollment procedure, Trakia university will announce the second ranking or will organize one more exam session.
