IMPORTANT! Trakia university does not have any contractual relationship or agreements with the so-called recruiting companies. The applicants are free to decide if they want to apply by themselves or to use the services of a recruiting company. The final ranking is not in any way influenced by the means the applicants apply (by themselves OR by the mediating companies).

The application process in Trakia university depends on many factors, such as the nationality of the applicants, the chosen program and language preferences. Generally, the following main categories of applicants-foreign citizens exist:

1. In the order of Bulgarian citizens (with competition) - applies to all EU and EEA applicants, persons with permanent residence on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, refugees. For these categories of foreigners, the application conditions, the deadlines for submitting documents and the application and tuition fees for Bulgarian citizens apply.

2. In accordance with regulations of the Council of Ministers (ПМС № 103 / 1993 г. и ПМС № 228 / 1997 г.) - ranked candidates are submitted by the Ministry of Education and Science.

3. Non-EU Aplicants - These are all non-nationals (outside the categories listed above) who qualify by papers or competitive examination and pay annual non-national tuition fees.

4. Candidates with dual nationality:

4.1. Persons with dual citizenship, one of whom is Bulgarian and the other is from a country that is a member of the EU and EEA shall be admitted under the conditions and in accordance with the procedure for Bulgarian citizens.

4.2 Persons with dual citizenship, one of whom is Bulgarian and the other is from a country that is not a member of the EU and EEA (third country), but have completed their secondary education in the Republic of Bulgaria, regardless of the other citizenship, shall be admitted under the terms and conditions of Bulgarian citizens.

4.3 Persons with dual citizenship, one of whom is Bulgarian and the other is from a non-EU country (third country), who have completed their secondary education abroad, are admitted under the conditions and according to the procedure established for third-country nationals, and may pay 50% of the fee established for foreign nationals.

Admission requirements and tuition fees depend on which of the above categories the prospective foreign student falls into.
