The event was opened by the rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Dobri Yarkov: "Thrace University is a research university, it is in the group of the Champions League of Universities, and we should all be proud of that. Our scientists have been published in high-class publications. I am extremely satisfied that now we all work as one team – colleagues from different faculties work together on common scientific projects. Therefore, we will continue to direct even more resources to research and development. The projects that have been submitted are for over 50 million euros with the ambition to reach 100 million by the end of the mandate. For this purpose, there must be interdisciplinarity in the collectives, dedication, participation of young people, preparation of more doctoral students to encourage and to succeed us. I am happy to be among you today and encourage you to be even more active!”
An extremely interesting presentation on the topic: "Dermatological science in Antarctica" was given by Prof. Dr. Razvigor Durlenski, who was part of the thirtieth Bulgarian Antarctic expedition to Livingston Island. His research is related to the research projections on the skin and physiological changes during the stay of volunteers in Antarctica
Nearly 300,000 BGN were allocated for material stimulation to scientists from the Thrace University for publication activity in various nominations.
Half of the amount is borne by the university, and the other part is financed by the Ministry of Education and Science. The Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities Associate Professor Darina Zaimova also expressed her appreciation for the Rector's support on behalf of the academic community of Thrace University with a special gift to Prof. Dobri Yarkov.
