The Pedagogical Faculty of the Thracian University held a large-scale international conference 2022 marks the twentieth anniversary of the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, which established the Pedagogical Faculty of the Thracian University - Stara Zagora. It is the immediate cultural and educational successor of the long-established traditions in the city in the field of pedagogy and pedagogical education, extending to the Renaissance. For the past twenty years the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Thracian University has established itself as one of the leading institutions in the country in the field of higher education, which prepares thousands of current and future teachers in various fields of preschool and school education, special and social pedagogy, information training. technologies and fine arts. Given the problems and challenges facing modern educational systems, the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Thracian University - Stara Zagora organizes an international online conference on "Education and Contemporary Challenges". Over two days, more than 150 participants from all universities in Bulgaria, as well as representatives of Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Turkey, Romania, Croatia, discussed online in the thematic sections: "Education, science and society: problems of interaction in the past and in the modern world "; "Innovative solutions in education"; "Modern education, children and society: global and regional processes"; "Socialization, upbringing, education in the digital age"; "Language and Culture in Contemporary Education". A Doctoral Section was also organized for young scientists. The Rector of the Thracian University - Stara Zagora Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dobri Yarkov greeted the participants at the opening of the conference: "I am pleased to be able to congratulate you on the occasion of the conference. What you do is unique and is an investment for the future of Bulgaria. Education in today's digital environment requires much more knowledge and skills, much more dedication.
