The "Virtual Technologies" specialty offers the training of engineering personnel and the acquisition of competences in line with the requirements of Industry 4.0 by applying project/problem-oriented training with an emphasis on practical and independent work.

Engineers who graduate from the specialty receive theoretical knowledge and practical skills to apply the latest manufacturing methodologies, where design and validation activities are carried out jointly, ensuring the optimization and testing of products/processes before their actual implementation, overlapping the individual phases of the design-implementation process ; creating skills to interpret data (from facts to knowledge), as well as complying with the requirements for protection and security when processing, storing and transferring data. Particular attention will be paid to the application of virtual technology methods in the field of energy, taking into account the European and national priorities in this field related to reducing greenhouse emissions, reducing the carbon footprint on the environment, increasing the energy efficiency of production systems to reduce the use of traditional energy sources and increasing the share of renewable energy in the total energy mix of Bulgaria.
