Academic activity The academic staff of the department conducts the following disciplines: Mandatory disciplines for the specialty "Medicine" Medical biology - 1st year Medical genetics - 3rd year Clinical immunology - 4th year Optional disciplines for the specialty "Medicine" Immunomodulation. Mechanism of action of plant immunomodulators - from I course to III course Molecular-biological methods in medicine - from I course to III course Immunodiagnostics and immunotherapy of lymphoproliferative diseases - IV course and V course Immunology of pregnancy Compulsory discipline for the specialty "Social Activities" Biology of development with human genetics - II year full-time and part-time study Compulsory courses for the specialty "Nurse" Medical genetics - III year Compulsory course for the specialty "Midwife" Medical genetics - III year Optional course for the specialty "Midwife" Immunology - II year Scientific activity Direction: Molecular mechanisms of regulation and modulation of immune response: Immunomodulatory activity of C3 binding glycoprotein isolated from Cuscuta europea (C3bgp) and other plant and bacterial immunomodulators. Study of the molecular mechanisms of signaling pathways mediating immunomodulation. Direction: Determination of immune complexes - quantitative and qualitative characteristics; assessment and prognostic significance. Application of CIF – ELISA for determination of circulating immune complexes. Direction: Studies on functional changes in immune response regulation by determining induced cytokine production by peripheral blood cells or monocytes after in vitro stimulation in patients with diseases involving immune pathology (sepsis, silicosis, CKD, TAO, malignant diseases). A study on the mechanisms of apoptosis: influence of cytokines, immunostimulators and immunosuppressors on apoptosis in vitro. Area: Association studies of gene polymorphisms and the genetic predisposition or severity of various human diseases. Direction: Determination of gene expression at the RNA level by Real Time PCR and at the protein level in immunomediated and other diseases. Evaluation of the functional effect of gene polymorphisms on gene expression levels. Area: Autoimmunity and autoimmune diseases. Role of cytokines in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune diseases - investigation of intracytoplasmic cytokine levels by flow cytometric analysis. Direction: Immunophenotyping of lymphocyte populations in immunodeficiency, autoimmune diseases and reproductive problems. Phenotyping of leukemias and lymphomas. Direction: Molecular biological, cytogenetic and biochemical studies of socially significant diseases. Conducting genetic monitoring for scientific and applied purposes.
