Blagovesta Slavcheva, a fourth-year student majoring in "Veterinary Medicine" at Trakia University - Stara Zagora, is the winner of this year's scholarship to support promising Stara Zagora students, established by the "Sami M" company. The talented woman from Kazan receives from the company a one-time monetary scholarship in the amount of BGN 3,000. At an official ceremony in Stara Zagora, the commercial director of "Sami M" - Miroslav Raichev, awarded Blagovesta with a special plaque and certificate. For the second year in a row, the company provides cash prizes for outstanding students of veterinary medicine at Thrace University. According to the competition regulations, applicants prepare essays on predetermined topics related to meat production and the meat processing industry, and a competent jury reviews the applications and awards 3 one-time scholarships of BGN 1,000 each to the best developments. This year, however, Blagovesta literally "blows away" the competition, said Ms. Mina Nikolova, corporate consultant of "Sami M". The essay presented by the prospective student on the topic "Production of quality pork". Animal breeds, feeding methods, husbandry, research and analysis' was so good that the jury unanimously decided that there should be only one winner and receive the entire prize fund.

"We will be glad if you continue to engage in academic work, but never lose touch with practice" - wished Mrs. Nikolova to the winner and added that they would be happy to welcome her to a pre-graduate internship in the company's production facilities.

"I invite all colleagues to participate in similar competitions - even if they do not succeed, they will learn a lot more in the preparation process and gain invaluable experience," said Blagovesta. Regarding the future, the laureate expressed hope that she will be able to combine a scientific and practical career, at her alma mater – University of Thrace.
