An international scientific conference "One Health" is being held today at the University of Trakia - Stara Zagora on the initiative of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The event is part of the events within the celebrations of "100 years of veterinary medical education in Bulgaria" and the anniversary of the faculty.

"Each conference is a kind of celebration for us, because at such forums we have the opportunity to discuss our scientific research and subject it to a critical analysis by colleagues - specialists in the relevant field" - said Prof. Miroslav Karabaliev, vice-rector for scientific and international affairs activity at the opening of the event. "Thrace University was chosen as a research university precisely because of our scientists, and I use the opportunity to invite them to be active and participate in as many similar forums as possible for the exchange of ideas and knowledge."

The conference program started with 3 scientific reports delivered by guest speakers from the Netherlands, Greece and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. More than 150 teachers, students, researchers and guests from the country and abroad (Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, Romania and Turkey) will have the opportunity to hear 37 presentations on diverse topics such as antimicrobial resistance in the animal, food, human chain, green innovations in animal husbandry, food security, clinical veterinary medicine and animal health, etc. The afternoon program of the conference includes breakout sessions and a poster session.
