The Rectorate of Trakia University – Stara Zagora hosted the official opening of “Career Development Days 2025” – the university’s largest initiative dedicated to supporting students in their professional orientation and career development. The atmosphere at the opening was filled with enthusiasm, energy, and inspiration, as participants shared a common mission: to build a bridge between education and the real business world.

The forum brought together representatives of leading companies, institutions, and organizations, who presented opportunities for internships, practical training, and professional growth. Students had the chance to meet employers in person, ask questions, and receive valuable guidance for a successful start to their careers.

“Career Development Days 2025” is establishing itself as a strategic platform for partnership between the university and the business sector — a place where young people can dream boldly, be inspired by the personal stories of professionals, and discover their direction for the future.

This year, the initiative is being carried out from November 7 to December 4 and is directed toward the various faculties of the university, with a focus on the degree programs offered in each of them. The format has been expanded and now includes a wide range of events and interactive activities, tailored to the interests and professional paths of the students. six separate events in cities Stara Zagora, Haskovo, and Yambolas follows:

• November 7 – Stara Zagora, Rectorate (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Economics)
• November 11 – Haskovo, Haskovo Branch
• November 14 – Stara Zagora, Faculty of Medicine
• November 18 – Yambol, Faculty of Engineering and Technology
• November 26 – Stara Zagora, Medical College
• December 4 – Stara Zagora, Faculty of Education

Each event begins at 11:00 and lasts four hours, providing space for dynamic, interactive, and meaningful communication between students and employers.

More than 9,000 students from over 50 countries, study at Trakia University, enrolled in 43 bachelor’s, 71 master’s, and 90 doctoral programs. Through initiatives such as “Career Development Days,” the university reaffirms its commitment to preparing competitive, confident, and inspired young people — the future leaders of Bulgaria and the world.

The event was opened by Assoc. Prof. Georgi Kalaydzhiev, head of the university's Career Center, who emphasized the importance of the forum:
“Our ambition is for this event to become a traditional forum and a key platform that connects the academic community with the real business environment, institutions, and the labor market. Our students will have the opportunity to broaden their outlook through meetings with our partners, to build a network of contacts, and to gain the confidence to present themselves.”

The Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Gabriela Kiryakova greeted the participants with the words:
“This event reinforces our university’s commitment to serving as a bridge between academic knowledge and the real professional environment. Our mission is to provide genuine opportunities for a successful career start for our graduates.”

A special guest at the opening was Captain Nikolay Kalaydzhiev from the Bulgarian Air Force — a five-time world record holder, three of which are listed in the Guinness World Records. In his inspiring address, he shared his story of ambition, determination, and the strength of spirit that drives him even toward the dream of “reaching for space.” His words were met with enthusiastic applause and left a lasting impression on the students.

With the opening of “Career Development Days 2025,” Trakia University once again demonstrates that the future belongs to those who seek inspiration, believe in themselves, and boldly walk the path toward success.
