The European Diploma Supplement shall be issued in accordance with Art. 1 of the Higher Education Act and the Regulation on the State Requirements to the Content of the Basic Documents Issued by the Higher Education Institutions, adopted by PMS No. 215 of 12.08.2004. It is issued as a supplement to the original diploma and does not replace the official annex to the higher education diploma.

The European Diploma Supplement is only awarded to students studying on curricula following the introduction of the Credit Accumulation and Transfer System.

Students who have obtained a higher education diploma can also apply for a European Diploma Supplement by submitting Заявление в съответния деканат, към което прилагат и копие от дипломата за висше образование.
