Biography
Prof. DSc Dilyan Georgiev graduated from Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” with a degree in Biology in 2002, and obtained a master's degree in Ecology in 2003. From 2004 to 2007 he was a full-time PhD student in Ecology and Ecosystem Conservation, defending his PhD degree in 2008 in the same field. In 2013 he earned the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences in Zoology. His professional career began in 2003 at Plovdiv University, where he held positions as biologist, assistant, senior assistant, and since 2013 – associate professor in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection. Between 2014 and 2018 he was associate professor at the Regional Natural History Museum – Plovdiv. Since 2014 he has been a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Trakia University, lecturing zoology to students in English-taught programs. Since 2025 he holds the academic title of professor at Trakia University (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) and Plovdiv University (Faculty of Biology). At the VMF of Trakia University he is head of the Ecology with Radiation Ecology section at the Department of General Animal Husbandry. |
