Economics

The foundation of the department dates back to 1939 when the discipline "Agricultural Economics" was introduced for the first time in Bulgaria. Established in 1975, the Department of Economics and Organization of Agricultural Production, founded by professors from VSI (Higher Institute of Economics) Sofia and VMF (Higher Military Forestry Institute) Sofia in 1974, was relocated to Stara Zagora. In 1995, it was split into two departments: "Agribusiness Management" and "Agricultural Economics".

Industrial Business and Entrepreneurship

Established in 2013, the Department of Industrial Business and Entrepreneurship is the newest structure within the Faculty of Economics. As a logical consequence of the intensive scientific and teaching activities developed in recent years, the department has attracted professors with expertise and knowledge, as well as intensive international activity and contacts.

Informatics and Mathematics

The "Informatics and Mathematics" Department is a member of the ACADEMIC COMMUNITY FOR COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES (ACCIT).

Management

The "Management" Department is established and approved within the framework of Trakia University - Stara Zagora based on decade-long traditions. These traditions have been preserved and developed thanks to the dedicated work of numerous scholars researching the issues of economics, organization, and management in the agricultural sector.

"Social Sciences and Business Language Training"

"For the first time, language education was conducted at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Sofia University, according to the curriculum adopted by the Faculty Council on January 12, 1924. As a result, French and German languages were studied as optional subjects."

Physical Education and Sports

The Department of Physical Education and Sports was established in the first year following the relocation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Zootechnics from Sofia to the Higher Institute of Zootechnics and Veterinary Medicine (HIZVM) in Stara Zagora in 1974. The first professors recruited from Sofia for the academic year 1974/1975 were Asen Kolev and Mladen Borisov.
