проф. Евгени Дюкенджиев представи пред 12-класници една от най-новите специалности в Тракийски университет – „Ортопедичен техник”.
12th graders from the "Vicho Granchаrov" High School met with Professor Evgeni Dyukendzhiev to learn more about a sought-after but still rare profession in Bulgaria - orthopedic technician. The professor, a significant part of whose career has been spent in Riga, is the founder of the Latvian Association of Bionics, Prosthetists, and Orthotists. Upon his return to Bulgaria, he was among the initiators of creating an association in his homeland and dedicated his efforts to training Bulgarian professionals. His first attempt, not particularly successful, was to organize vocational education at the Vocational High School "Vasil Levski" in Gorna Oryahovitsa. Three years ago, he received an offer to develop a bachelor's degree program specializing in "Orthopedic Technician" at the Medical College of Trakia University in Stara Zagora. Among his first students in the new course is his daughter Anna, who also participated in presenting the specialty at the "Vicho Granchаrov" High School.
Professor Dyukendzhiev has a laboratory for atypical prosthetics in Gorna Oryahovitsa and works very successfully to support young patients with cerebral palsy. "I myself need help in my work. And I want to create a community of colleagues. I have quite a few students who are already working, but they are mainly in Southern Bulgaria. I would like professionals from our region to be trained as well," explains Professor Dyukendzhiev his desire to meet with future applicants.
