In the period 22-24 June 2022, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Thracian University of Stara Zagora was held a specialized training course for employees of state institutions, aimed at investigating cases of poisoning in the wild. The objectives of the training are also aimed at improving the coordination between the institutions regarding the work and implementation of the activities set in the "National Action Plan for Combating Illicit Use of Poisons in the Wild 2021-2030." A total of 13 cadets from the Ministry of Interior took part , RIEW, RDG and BFSA (from the cities of Varna, Shumen, Ruse, Haskovo, Kardzhali). The trainers were lecturers from the Thracian University, Stara Zagora, experts from BSPB and Green Balkans and the General Directorate of the National Police - Sofia. The trainees took a three-day theoretical course, followed by practical classes at the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Green Balkans - Stara Zagora and a demonstration of working with a dog trained to detect poisons. The course ended with the graduation of the participants and a certificate of qualification issued by the Thracian University, Stara Zagora.
