4DCulture "Dress up, Dance and Digitally Dive into Culture"

Trakia University - Stara Zagora, through the Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Yambol, is a partner in the European project 2021-1-EL01-KA220-ADU-000028466 4DCulture "Dress up, Dance and Digitally Dive into Culture". The project is under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, key activity 220 "Cooperative Partnerships in Adult Education". The coordinator of the project is the University of Western Attica, Athens, Greece. In addition to Trakia University, the project partners are Trakia University - Dresden, Germany, Technical University - Kaunas, Lithuania, and organizations from Greece and Portugal. The project starts on February 28, 2022 and has a duration of 25 months. In recent years, digitization has offered new opportunities to access cultural heritage. Information about traditions, folk costumes and dances that can be found on the Internet is insufficient and unsystematized. More complete information can be found in books and museums. At the same time, research efforts and scientific thinking focus on the development of experiential learning and play to support and promote learning. The 4DCulture project will involve the development of an online portal that can be used for education, information and entertainment. As a means of experiential learning, it will be aimed at fashion designers, textile engineers, professional dancers, students, researchers, and people of all ages with interests in these fields. A virtual portal will be built that will offer a realistic visualization in the field of ethnography and folklore. The emphasis will be on traditional costumes, folk dances and dance movements of peoples from EU member countries. The innovative aspect of the project will be a holistic approach of visualizing through virtual reality traditional dances with folk costumes, digitally presented and staged in the selected region.
